纯四氟垫片全称聚四氟乙烯垫片国外又叫PTFE垫片或Teflon（铁氟龙，特氟龙）垫片由聚四氟乙烯棒、管、板经机械车削或裁切而成的平垫片、V形垫片、活塞环、球阀垫圈等也可以用模具压制成型经高温硫化制成模压四氟垫片。应四氟具有优良的耐腐蚀性、抗老化性、绝缘性、洁净性等良好特性所以被广泛应用于化工、石油、制药、食品等等众多领域，被称之为“塑料王 ”。聚四氟乙烯具有极强的抗腐蚀性能，只有熔融态的的碱金属和高温、高压下的元素氟等极少数元素才对它起作用。四氟不吸水、不受氧气、紫外线作用耐候性好，在户外暴露3年，抗拉强度几乎保持不变，仅伸长率有所下降。由于四氟在压力及高温下容易产生冷流和蠕变现象使他非常适用于在低压低温或中温腐蚀性强或不允许有污染的密封部位。四氟在-100℃～100℃之间能够具有良好的机械强度可以加工成不同形状的四氟制品，还可以和其它材料组合使用如做成四氟包覆垫片，缠绕垫片，或作为金属类垫片的贴层，如金属齿形组合垫和金属波齿复合垫片
